Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of Production Superintendent and Foreman, this position will be responsible for production equipment and oil, gas and water production from well within an assigned area.  Will provide support to co-workers and contractors working onsite within an assigned area.  Will be familiar with all operations within a designated area to be able to rotate assignments and/or provide relief.     

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Continuously monitor and patrol well sites with emphasis on proper equipment operation, lubrication, minor maintenance and repairs, and operations record-keeping. 
  • All well sites within the area of responsibility will be inspected daily, with high producers and critical wells checked frequently if necessary. 
  • Respond immediately to analyze and correct well or equipment problems within assigned areas.
  • Will participate in cost optimization initiatives pertaining to field operations.
  • Promote safety, health & environmental protection by performing proactive inspections of assigned locations.
  • Support company governmental administrative reporting requirements.

The work required for this position cannot be performed remotely.  Operators are required to live within a reasonable distance to the field. In some circumstances, local temporary living arrangements will be acceptable while the employee is on the working portion of their rotation.  Record keeping and data entry while on-shift, operational notes and reports, and participation in on-site safety meetings and drills are required.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

General understanding of operation of oil and gas wells and production equipment. 

Physical Requirements: 

As part of the job description, lease operators are required to drive to the various well sites within an assigned area.  Field employees will travel to and in remote areas and may be exposed to severe and dangerous weather and driving conditions at times.
